Raphael Hefti

In the summer of 2022, Santozeum commissioned Swiss artist Raphael Hefti to realize a site-specific adaptation of his floor work We Are Not One Way Trip to Mars People on the museum’s terraces. As Adam Jasper wrote for the artists monograph Salutary Failures, “Raphael Hefti, for his part, hijacks the machinery of thermoplastic road painting and takes it on a joyride. Instead of laying out the dashed and unbroken lines meant to dictate behavior, he fills the reservoir with a rainbow sequence of pigments and paints the road as a canvas.”
