SALOME VOEGELIN – INAUDIBLE DISASTER WARNING

This curatorial performance will take the shape of a sonic forewarning, trying to conjure the notion of unheard disasters in sound. It is based on the most quietest of disasters affecting the Western World:
the banking crises and the on-going silent disastrousness of neo-liberal capitalism, which the author understands to be, implicitly and explicitly, the cause for many more tangible tragedies, and the reason for many disaster warnings ringing out all over the world.

Through the playing of sounds, through reading, song and text, the power of this insidiously quiet calamity that heralds many private and public disasters and tragedies is given sound and articulation. This performance tries to repeal the inaudibility of this economical and political disaster, the silence that gives it cover from detection, and tune up a sound that might make it heard.
